Also known as St Albans City Hall – Alban Arena is the center of attention as a music venue and theater. It is located at Civic Centre, St Albans Hertfordshire, England.
During the end of the 1950s, it turned out to be certain that new municipal structures would be required to promote flourishing prosperity and the very first in line was the building of Forrester House in 1960 that is situated on St Peters Street, trailed by a police headquarters, and various small offices. The buildings are called ‘Civic Buildings‘ and the area is known as ‘Civic Center‘.
In 1968 a stimulation hall was built specifically for entertainment purpose – it was called ‘City Hall‘ which is now known as Alban Arena. The actual territory that was to be used for Civic buildings (including Alban Arena), at first, was filled with greenery enclosures and mesmerizing gardens. These gardens were partially linked to a building of 18th century called C-House which is now known as the ‘Nationwide Building Society‘. Interestingly, this building was also the home of the Mayor of St Albans – John Osborne. The expansion of civil buildings continued until the 1980s ending with the ‘Crown Court’ and ‘Council Offices’.

This programme was initially opened for teenagers to attend on Mondays, but the day was changed to Saturdays with the addition of Live music which excelled the level of entertainment. Several DJs (Disc Jockeys) joined the Monday night sessions including the famous and talented DJ Graham Kentsley – who, in fact, is set to host a series of events starting at the end of 2017. The project is called ‘The ultimate Civic Disco‘ entitled to celebrate the 50 years of ‘Civic Discos‘ also promoting the Verulamium Museum.
