After the successful inauguration of St Albans Abbey Station, the Midland Railway added another train station marvel to its list by building St Albans City Station. The history of St Albans City Train station started on October 1st, 1868 with a spectacular establishment. Initially, Midland Railway thought of expanding the St Pancras Train Station and built St Albans City terminus for it. Also, St Albans was quite famous for the trading of Watercress (aquatic plant species), loads of 25 kg (56-pound) were sent to London and Manchester from St Albans.
